Compared to other, thermal joining methods adhesive bonding offers important advantages for many fields of application. Due to this fact adhesive bonding of CrNi-steel often is quite interesting for technical applications. Investigations have shown that constructive adhesive bonding of steel is possible.
Nevertheless, a precondition concerning this point is given by the following facts: the initial strength has to be high and the new compounds must be resistant against chemical loads for a longer period of time. These points only can be realized if the sheets to be joined are pretreated in a suitable way. Here one possibility of pretreatment is given by the dry-chemical method being used to activate the bonding surfaces of stainless steel.
