A new Technological Proofing Method for Sheet Metal Materials

The article describes a new technological proofing method for sheet metal-materials, with which as well as deepdrawability as also strechformability of the sheets simultaneously can be proofed by the use of systematically varied curvatures of the stamp-ground-forms in an drawing cup test. Through this increase of the proofing conditions, the wide demands within the manufacture of complicated panels are better than until now considered in an experiment. This enables a more varied judgement of the materials regarding their suitability for predominant deep- or strechforming tasks and a better quantification of similar materials, through which the meaningful-ness of the results increases opposite previous proofing methods considerably. That enables the users in the car manufacture industry an optimization of the material selection and the sheet metal-manufacturers an aimed material development for particular application cases.
